Social Club - Medallist Bar (Southern Stand) closed rd 18 Collingwood v Carlton

Please note that the Medallist Bar, located on Level 2 of the Southern Stand will not be available for use during the round 18 game against Carlton on Saturday 31st July. Social Club members can still access the Dean Jones Bar (Ponsford Stand) or the Hassett Room (Southern Stand) for this game. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

2010 Members Cap Collection

Any members who are yet to collect their 2010 Member caps can still do so at the Westpac Centre from 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday. Members must produce their valid 2010 membership card to be clipped in order to collect their caps. Caps will only be available up until Friday 30th July 2010.

Harrison Room Dining On Sale

Harrison Room bookings can now be made for all remaining MCG games by phoning 1300 MAGPIE (1300 624743). For more information please visit the Social Club Dining page.

The success of the Collingwood Football Club is not just about our players, coaches, admin and support staff. It’s equally about our loyal members proudly standing SIDE by SIDE.

Last year 46,327 dedicated members helped ensure a great year for the club. Here we recognise our ‘Best Members Team' of 2009 as selected from 46,327 of the Collingwood faithful.

In every way their stories are unique and inspiring. From all walks and stages of life they share a common goal – an unconditional love of the Mighty Magpies.

We congratulate them on displaying the dedication, commitment and passion that sets Collingwood Members apart from other teams.

That goes for all our valued members - the lifeblood, heart and soul of the Magpies.

What is your favourite ground to go to?

The MCG. In big games at the 'G' there is an aura like no other sporting ground in the country.

What is your favourite Collingwood memory?

My favourite Collingwood memory would have to be the 2007 Semi Final vs West Coast at Subiaco. We had a good side, but were still underdogs and rightfully so against the Grand Finalists of the previous 2 years. After a slow start, the game was in the balance in the last quarter and neither side could get ahead before the final siren, forcing extra time. Collingwood prevailed in extra time by 19, an amazing win and the best I have seen in my time as a supporter.

Who's number did you wear on your football jumper as a child?

Number 5, after my hero Nathan Buckley.

Which Collingwood player is most like you and why?

I guess Tarkyn, Presti or Obi, for their staying power.

Do you have any Collingwood or football related superstations?

I had a Collingwood badge given to me by a friend of my father's in the early 70's which was an old depiction of the "Fighting Magpie" of the great depression. It was handed over as a good luck charm. The man who gave it to me was named Syd Sidebottom. I wore it to the 1977 Grand Final, the 1977 replay, the Grand Finals of 1979, 1980, 1981, 2002 and 2003. No luck. The only one I missed was the 1990 Grand Final, when I had to present Seven News on the Saturday night. I said, "There's no way I'm not wearing Syd's Collingwood badge!" It worked! And I still keep it handy for a young gun called Steele!

We are delighted to inform all Club 5, Legends, Captains and Social Club members that the dining facility, “The HC Harrison Room” is available exclusively to you our 14 MCG home and away games in 2010.

As a Social Club member you can book for a pre game meal prior to any of our MCG matches.

While sitting behind the glass you will enjoy a sumptuous 2 course meal and be entertained by our MC plus special guests prior to the game. Refreshments will be served at half time along with the raffle draw.

After the match you and your guests can return and celebrate a Collingwood win.

So whether you are having a children’s party, entertaining a guest or just out for a day at the footy why not join us to celebrate a Collingwood win!

SPECIAL EVENT

Help us support the Robert Rose Foundation by booking into the Harrison Room for the Round 19 clash against Geelong. Tickets must be collected from the membership collections marquee located outside gate 1 from 2 hours prior to the start of the match. No tickets will be mailed out. Entry will not be permitted to any member or guest without a Harrison Room access pass.

After Match Functions

The Westpac Centre will be open to Collingwood members before and after all MCG games and during all interstate games with the game on the big screen. All Club 5, Legends, Captains and Social Club members will be given the first option to pre-book their entry to our blockbuster after match functions.

If further tickets remain after the priority booking period, all Collingwood members will be advised via the Collingwood website.

Members are invited to enjoy a drink and something to eat in a friendly Collingwood environment prior to MCG games and then come back after the game and celebrate the day with fellow members.

Selected players will make an appearance after MCG games* at the Lexus Centre to talk about their individual performance and the team’s performance on the day.

During interstate Collingwood games the Lexus Centre will also be open to members and supporters to watch the game on the big screen. Please note due to low attendances at interstate match events during 2009 this will be under review at the conclusion of the 2010 season - we encourage you to support this event and ensure that it is here to stay.

Social Club Guest Passes

As has been the tradition over many years, Social Club members can purchase guest passes to bring guests into the Social Club on level 2 of the Ponsford Stand at the MCG.

Guest passes are $10 each and can be purchased from the Lexus Centre front counter or from the Membership Sales tent outside Gate 1 two hours before the game.
